Mercury
Mercury by ThemeIt is a gorgeous minimalist WordPress theme built for the blogger and social media extraordinaire. The front page goes straight to the point, with a slideshow of entries with an arrangement that is reminiscent of the covers of fashion magazines. Following that, previews of all the rest of the blog entries cascade down, with a nifty sidebar for both information and navigation. Mercury’s main strength, however, lies in its uncanny compatibility with social media. Now, most other themes can do this, but Mercury takes it to the next level. An Instagram feed can be linked seamlessly at the bottom of the page or on the sidebar, in a connected square grid layout that just begs for a follow and a like, at least. Other social media links can also be incorporated just as seamlessly, as the theme includes a full set of minimalist social media icons ready for use.
Mercury is fully responsive, with the entire layout collapsing neatly into a single column for smaller devices. It’s also customizable. If the clean white just isn’t working for the theme of the site, the creator can change the color scheme with just a few clicks. Mercury also has ten different blog layouts, making it easy for anyone to find the setup that works for them.

Montana
Montana by ThemeIt is a blog layout that is, remarkably, also well-suited for photography or illustration portfolios. The wide header allows creators to showcase a single image in all its glory to draw the viewers in. Blog entries are then displayed in a vertical, full-screen cascade. For best results, opt for a slideshow on the first page, featuring cover images with a clean, white overlay and black titles. The best feature of Montana is that the cover images aren’t shy. They’re displayed wide and beautiful even on the front page. This is why Montana accidentally lends well to artist portfolios, even if this obviously wasn’t the original intent. But this doesn’t mean it’s not great at what it was built for. We can see it working wonderfully with classic blogs featuring high-resolution images. Whether for travel, fashion or crafts, Montana definitely makes pictures shine, after all. And like all other layouts by ThemeIt, the social media incorporation is impeccable.
Montana is responsive, looking gorgeous in any screen resolution. It’s also ready for e-commerce, so blogger crafts and merchandise can be accessible to viewers with just a few clicks. Clean, simple and nostalgic, this theme is great for bloggers who love images as much as they love writing!
